Understanding Trials & Difficulties.

لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

(Al-Baqarah 2:286)

any trials we are going through in life is custom-tailored according to our own individual personalities and capabilities. takleef means to be burden with something. yes trials are custom-made. but there are some things that all of us are responsible for and capable of doing. there are commandments in islam that we can't say some people can do it but we can't. for example the prayer. all of us have the capacity to perform prayer (with exception to very very very minute cases) and are obligated to perform prayer. full stop.

one interesting point is,

kasaba which is easier to earn is used for good deeds.

iktasaba which is harder to earn is used for bad deeds.

weird because it reflects that good deed is easier to earn than bad deed when we usually prone to do the later. what it actually means here is the price that we pay for it after doing the deeds.

easier to earn good deeds meaning getting easier life after going through all the hardship

harder to earn bad deeds meaning getting worse payback after the easy bad things that we did
