Take Allah's Commands Seriously.

And [recall] when Moses said to his people, "Indeed, Allah commands you to slaughter a cow." They said, "Do you take us in ridicule?" He said, "I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant."
(Al-Baqarah 2:67)

musa was saddened by the fact that his people took Allah's command as a joke. musa as a daie would normally feel upset when he called people to Allah, he in return heard inappropriate response. but to what extent should he have the feeling that might obstruct his duty? musa quickly prayed  not to be among those who were jahil. in this context of ayah, jahil is the opposite of aqil.

jahil is someone who lose his emotional control.
aqil  is someone who has his emotional control.

musa knew he need not to let anger fills him up and to really act cool when facing this kind of situation. full stop.

this ayah is not only for those who make fun of Allah's messages but also to those who deliver Allah's messages, who try to do the work of the prophets, who when they say something on behalf of Allah and they are mocked and ridicule, they do not lose their cool. being a daie requires one to have a thick skin, and we need to deal with some very obnoxious people and what are our attitude towards that? pray that Allah do not make us from those who easily lose their temper.
